Art under 100

Public Event
Sat, Dec 10, 2016 - 2:00pm to 8:00pm
Seattle Design Center

Get ready for Art Under $100, a genuinely affordable art sale and far more. AU100 features 70 crackerjack artists offering unique work priced under a C-note. We’re talking painting, glass, fabric art, ceramics, jewelry and more. AU100 challenges artists to create great art that’s accessible to all. After the festivities, you’ll come home with the most-coveted holiday gifts that put mass-production to shame.

AU100 is not just a sale: it’s a community-based art experience. There’s participatory art: Adults and kids can take a creation home from The Makery, a mobile art lab powered by love and recycled materials. Be a part of Part You, a collaborative project from artist Catherine Grisez who will teach you to hammer copper sheets into gorgeous enameled leaves, creating art to be auctioned to fund youth art classes. There’s also merriment and community. Twelve years strong, AU100 is a holiday party filled with friends and artists emerging from their studios to chat face-to-face.

  • Imbibe--we’ll have wine, Redhook beer and a signature cocktail. (21+ only)
  • Be merry--we’ll have a live DJ spinning the perfect mix.
  • Indulge—we’ll have food from World Pizza, 314 Pie and Thyme Well Spent will be onsite. Plus, there’s Café Red coffee, Seattle Chocolates and Seattle Popcorn.
  • Participate--odds are great you’ll come home with art you love.  We’ll have drawings every 20 minutes in our legendary raffle.  Winners choose from a coveted selection of AU100 art.

Last year was so much fun, we’re bringing back the ticketed VIP hour from 1-2 pm for luxurious crowd-free shopping with chocolate and champagne. A minimum $20 donation gets you one of the limited spots. Or show your support by buying an owl luchador tee or sweatshirt designed by artist onesevennine. (Image preview below.) All proceeds benefit South Park Arts, an organization dedicated to supporting, representing, and promoting art and artists of Seattle’s South Park neighborhood.

Price: Free Entry beginning at 2:00 p.m., Free Parking, VIP Hour from 1:00-2:00 p.m. for $20 through Brown Paper Tickets.
