Inspired by her grandfather, who founded Seattle’s iconic Daly’s Paint in the 1930s, Robin developed an early appreciation for how thoughtful materials and color can shape the way people live. She later helped launch the boutique paint brand C2 Paint, further strengthening her expertise in color theory and design. After spending years in social work, she returned to school for interior design, then invested time working across construction, and industry practice before establishing Michelle Dirkse Interior Design in 2013.
